Lawmakers hear from ban supporters every session. They need to hear from the Texans whose jobs and choices are on the line.
Congress changed the federal definition of hemp in late 2025. Unless it acts again, startingDecember 11, 2026 finished hemp products are capped at 0.4 mg of total THC per container. That would effectively end hemp THC beverages and most hemp consumables. The current date is a one-month delay, not a fix.
1. Contact Congress
The federal fix has to come from Congress. Call or write your U.S. Representative and both Texas Senators.
2. Contact your Texas legislators
Lawmakers are expected to take up hemp again in the 2027 Texas session. Your state senator and representative need to hear from you before then.
What to say
- Who you are: a voter in their district, and if it applies, a hemp business owner, worker, farmer or customer.
- What you want: regulate hemp, don't ban it. Keep 21+ with ID, testing and labeling.
- Why it matters to you: your job, your business, your customers, your town.
Keep it short and polite. A personal story beats a form letter.
