The #1 priority for the National and Texas chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is to advocate for alternatives to opioids. The Texas VFW alone represents more than 64,000 Texas veterans who oppose a ban on hemp products.

There are 53,000 jobs, 8,000+ businesses, $267 million in tax revenue and $2.1 billion in annual wages at stake. This massive industry will be wiped out on November 13th, 2026 if the federal hemp ban is not over turned.

Consumers

The ban on hemp threatens gun rights for veterans and patients by forcing them into a federally illegal marijuana program, fuels the black market empowering cartels, and blocks access to safer alternatives to opioids.

Countdown to Federal Hemp Ban

If Congress fails to act, a federal hemp ban could take effect on November 13th, 2026—putting adult access, small businesses, and responsible regulation at risk nationwide. The clock is ticking for lawmakers to pass a permanent, commonsense framework that protects consumers and preserves legal hemp.
